A Radiologist is a medical specialist trained to interpret imaging exams.
Radiologists undergo at least 13 years of training; four-year undergraduate degree, four-year medical degree, one-year internship, four years of diagnostic radiology residency and one to two years advanced sub-specialized training.
As the radiology field grows even larger with newer imaging studies and exams, Radiologists have become more specialized in specific fields of imaging. Some of these sub-specialties areas include:
- Breast Imaging
- Cardiovascular
- Chest
- Head and Neck/Musculoskeletal
- Neuroradiology
- Nuclear and Radiation Oncology
